Beautiful small lake on the Den Treek estate, far away from the beaten track.
The Treekermeertje was created at the beginning of the 20th century by excavating peat for peat extraction. The lake is therefore also called a "Veenplas". The seepage and rainwater is retained by several weirs.
In 2002 it was completely dredged because it threatened to close up. The surrounding forest has also been cut down and the ground was soded. There are plants such as the sundew and juniper. Therefore, the area is not open to the public.
