This juvenile great horned owl was fed a few hours earlier and it stayed up way pass its bedtime. When the sunlight started to shine into its nest (a hole in the tree), it knew it was time to go to bed. After it got back into the nest, it decided to take one last peek before it closed its eyes. That was when I took this photo.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 7D Mark II and an 100-400 Canon L II lens.Inspiration
Most owls sleep during the day. It is not easy to get an open-eye owl with sunlight.Editing
