Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a chilly evening in London in the middle of Tower Bridge.

Time

I started taking photos of the Tower Bridge and its surroundings just before blue hour. Apart from the typical London buses, traffic is a distraction of the architecture of Tower Bridge. So I waited until it was dark, grabbed my tripod and started to make long exposures.

Lighting

Because I wanted to create a maximum of leading lines, I dialled in long shutter times, to create leading lines from the passing traffic.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D850, AF-S 16-35 and a Manfrotto tripod.

Inspiration

during the day I was annoyed by the passing traffic, so I came with the idea to create leading lines in a low angle towards one of the towers of the Tower Bridge.

Editing

I did the post-processing using Lightroom and PhotoShop

In my camera bag

When travelling and doing cityscape photography, I always have my full frame Nikon camera, 24-70 and 16-35, gradient and grey filters and a Tripod.

Feedback

I always try to do something different with my images, especially when it is a famous subject like the Tower Bridge.
