My baby boy is a rescue. We got him two years ago, just before Christmas. He was gonna be dumped on the moors near to us, but my sister got him just before they drove up there, so he came to us.
It took us a fair while to gain his trust, but it was worth it, he's so happy now and so affectionate. And double the size of our smallest cat.
