Location
This photo was taken in an abandoned building. We thought it would be such a fun place to photograph her senior dance photos.Time
We took these mid day but the lighting was bad inside. There was no power inside with very little lighting coming in.Lighting
We had a vision before the shoot. I used my Profoto lights (high speed sync of course).Equipment
I always shoot handheld. Profoto B1x as my key light.Inspiration
Linley was a senior when I took this photo. She has danced all of her life so of course we had to take photos of her dancing. We wanted her photos to be unique. I found an abandoned building and we shot several outfits.Editing
I shoot in Raw. I first processed my files then I added a few overlays for some color and fun.In my camera bag
at the time of this photo I think I was shooting a 5dMarkIV . I now have a R5 and R6MarkII. Of course I have tons of lenses. My older lenses that would not leave my camera were the 85 1.4 and the 70-200 or the 200f2. With the mirrorless I mainly shoot the 70-200 2.8RF and the 24-70RF.Feedback
You need to practice with strobes for sure. I think it is tons easier now to get this photo these days with mirrorless cameras because of the autofocus. You can also search free (or of course buy) overlays.
