This was taken in my backyard (Martinsville, IN)Time
If I could pick the my favorite time of day to shoot it would be around 6 p.m. but this little model had a busy schedule and only had an opening at 3ish.Lighting
Because the sun was really bright I had to shade him with my body.Equipment
Canon EOS-1D X settingsAperture 56/10?ISO 800?Shutter 1/80?Focal Length 100/1 I never use a tripod its so restrictive.Inspiration
I found the frog in our pool and rescued him. I had planted some cannas in pots and thought the contrast of the leaves and frog would make a stunning photo. I put the frog on the leaf and he was a natural model.Editing
typically I increase contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
This was taken with my 1DX. I only shoot it with outside sports and birds. I now carry the Canon R5 (the focus is wonderful) and I carry my 5DMarkIV. Attached to one is my 35mm and 85mm. When I walk out to my backyard for flowers and such I use my 100mm macroFeedback
These little frogs will pose forever for you. You can put them on the flower or where ever you want them. Just be patient and have your shutter a bit high for movement.
