Behind The Lens

Location

Taken with a modified Canon T3 Rebel camera to shoot infra red images. This Ponderosa pine is in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Northern Colorado.

Time

Sometime in the afternoon as thunderstorms usually form in the afternoon. I was driving through the park and saw this lone Ponderosa pine tree. Infra red records clouds really well, bringing out definition you might not normally see.

Lighting

Early afternoon sunlight.

Equipment

Canon T3 Rebel modified for Infra red images. Have loved infra red since my film camera days, but always hated the deep red filter required and the graininess of B/W film.

Inspiration

Magnificent pine tree in a national park with a distant storm.

Editing

Just Lightroom

In my camera bag

then or now?

Feedback

Try infra red......I shot some images of an actress on the set of a student film while in Nashville. She had dark hair, color images she looked like Marilyn Monroe, but in infra red she looked like an elven princess with blue white hair and beautiful skin.
