This photo was taken on an early morning walk through Yellowstone Park's Old Faithful Geyser Basin.Time
As the sun rose! It was a harrowing walk along the boardwalk as it was covered with front and extremely slippery. But the photos I got were worth the effort. What a magnificently different place to photograph with the mist, steam, fog and smoke from the western fires when I took this.Lighting

I used my Nikon Z7ii with my Nikkor 24-70 mm lens. I carried my tripod but did not use it on this particular shot.Inspiration
Everywhere I looked on this walk I was inspired. As I went so early in the morning there were only 2-3 people out ahead of me so I was pretty much able to shoot whatever and wherever I chose with no interruptions. I did have to wait for a buffalo to move on as I had no intentions of challenging him.Editing
Normal post processing such as adjustments for lighting, saturation, highlights, contrast and cropping.In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon Z7ii camera and my everyday lens which is a Nikkor 24-70 mm. An extra battery always resides in my bag as well. Depending on what I intend to shoot I might add a different lens and tripod. I usually travel pretty light for everyday shooting. If going to shooting with a group all day I will carry a larger bag with more accessories but on a whole you won't see me with that much equipment.Feedback
Lighting is key. Morning light or evening light usually gives you the best photos. By 9:00 a.m. I was back at my starting point as the 'magic' had disappeared for me.
