This is the last 2019 Neuschwanstein image you have to go through, I promise. ;-)
After having found the secret vantage point I just wanted to have a shot with me and the castle.
On the one hand I felt like an appointment I was looking forward to had finally come true, on the other hand I was a bit disappointed by the scaffolding of the castle. But it really didn’t matter too much - now I know the way up and am free to visit it whenever I want to.
By the way: My planned overnight stay at this spot in 2020 didn’t go well - after all the preparation (getting light weight equipment, a cold-resistant sleeping bag etc.) I found myself in front of a closed Pöllat gorge that afternoon. :-(
