Location
This photo was taken on a photography trip to London. I stayed for three days with a good photographer friend and we walked our legs off as there is so very much to photograph in London with iconic landmarks around every corner. Tower bridge is much photographed and the challenge here was to get the lights from the buses for the height of the light-trails. I wanted to see the bus in the lights and managed to achieve this (you need to look closely) but I was thrilled to get a London taxi cab in there as well.Time
This was taken at dusk as I wanted to get the light trails. London is usually busy so I knew I had to be patient and the shot would come for me.Lighting
In order to get the light trails I had to use a small aperture for a 10 sec exposure.Equipment
Taken on a Canon 5DSR with a 16 - 35mm Canon lens at 16mm. ISO 100. f16 in order to get the 10 sec exposure I needed.Inspiration
I had planned the trip to London for months with lots of research of landmarks and locations. I was inspired by a photographer friend who is known locally for taking this style of photo worldwide.Editing
Post processing was done in Photoshop, Luminar and Aurora. I used 'skew' within photoshop to remove the lens distortion. Luminar for the colours enhancement and Aurora for the detail. In my camera bag
For this sort of photography trip I use a Tenba backpack camera bag. Very comfortable for the weight I will be carrying. Canon 5DSR body and an assortment of lenses depending on what I have planned. Manfrotto tripod and Lee filters are usually with me along with shutter release.Feedback
Safety is important of course. Here I am on the pavement and the camera on the tripod is perched over the fence so it was quite safe. Plan the time of day of course and be ready for the great British weather.
