I just wanted to depict a glorious aura over the river... so I shot against the sun to get some flares and rays.Equipment
I used my canon 700d with my 18-55mm lens and a tripod.Inspiration
I wanted to capture a feeling of glory... we can't see in the picture, but in this place, daily, hundreds of people gather to witness the sunset in Porto. So I wanted to convey that sense of glorious ritual that marked a end but also a beginning.Editing
I used lightroom to work a bit of the contrast and enhance some of the details that were lost when shooting against the sun. There is nothing in the photo that wasn't there when I shot itIn my camera bag

"Practice makes perfect". Imagine your shot before you take it, study the location, where and at what time does the sun set, come prepared with a good dose of patience and shoot... there's no substitute for experience and the more you shoot (and learn from your mistakes) the closest will your shots be to what you've envisioned. But most of all, don't forget to have fun and enjoy the moment!
