Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a photo session in an Indian dance recital.

Time

It was late afternoon, I don't remember the exact time.

Lighting

I remember that the stage of the show was well lit and I didn't need any additional artificial lights.

Equipment

I had brought several canon camera bodies with me, here I used a canon 5d and a canon 70-200 f2.8 lens.

Inspiration

I was simply trying to capture the moves and essence of Indian ballet.

Editing

I didn't need to work a lot in post-production the shot in raw, I just corrected the white balance a bit and adjusted the sharpness, levels and curves. Nothing else.

In my camera bag

Of course it depends on what I have to go to photograph; for indoor photographies in my bag there is a wide angle, a 50mm, a 70-200mm, tripod and flash.

Feedback

It is always good to talk to the dancers before the show, so they can explain in advance the essence of the dance and what they want to be represented in your photographs; this will greatly help your work!
