Teenagers are tough to capture. My daughter was engaged in the conversation, relaxed and was comfortable with the camera.Editing
All the shots in this series had minor alterations. I took a shortcut on Lightroom on this one by applying a “Cross Process” filter. In my camera bag

I think knowing that your subject is comfortable in an unrelated moment, and simultaneously fine with the camera, is really important. It allows you to tread the space between what would be candid, and what would be considered posed. I think that you can capture a spontaneous look or emotion even though your subject is aware they are being shot.
