My friend is a single mother of two cute little girls, and a hard working woman, trying to support her family. I told her I wanted to learn portraiture and was looking for people to practice with. She volunteered her girls who were great to shoot. We chose an outdoor setting because it was summer and I thought the girls would have more fun than in a studio type setting. It is a great way to gain experience. I have practiced with a couple of family shoots of friends. It is fun but much more difficult ( for me) as opposed to nature, landscape or other genre. You certainly nailed this shoot!

thank you very much Herb, my preference is for nature as well. But I there have been some fun experiences shooting people I know. These two girls were a blast to photograph. their personalities made it easy to get images like this one
