Location
The photo was taken in the Provence region (France) in the lavender bloom period when the sun was setting in the midst of a thousand colors of flowering fields. These two Japanese were watching admiring the wonderful sunset aheadTime
It was around 8pm when sunset began on that July 6, 2018. At that time I had fortunately mounted the focal duplicator on my Nikon 70-200 and this allowed me to take these two faces that were quite far from my position.Lighting
The lighting is totally natural and is given by the sun that was setting on the horizonEquipment
On this occasion I had my D850 equipped with Nikon 70-200 and focal duplicator. I wanted to capture the admired faces of the people who watched the sunset on the lavender fields. For this I had mounted such a long focal length. I wanted to "capture the moment" beautiful in people's faces. ISO 800; f / 16; 1/125; 400mmInspiration
Street photography has always fascinated me and I wanted to do a sort of "street photography" in the middle of the flower fields. I went right in search of the situation that I represented in the photo.Editing
I have not carried out any particular post-production works. I simply developed the raw file to best balance the white and slightly softening the shadows. In my camera bag
In my bag there are always the two Nikon camera bodies (D850 and D5) with the triad of Nikon lenses consisting of 14-24; 24-70; 70-200 (all f / 2.8). I always have the focal duplicator and the 95mm Nikon f / 1.4 with me.Feedback
When I move to take photos I always try to have clear ideas about what I want to achieve. In this case (as explained above) I wanted to make a street on people's faces in the very large space of a field of lavender. For this I had mounted the 70-200 with the additional 2x. Having clear ideas about what (and how) you want to photograph, helps a lot not to be unprepared for the photo that the eye sees.
