Location
This was taken in one afternoon during a photo walk that was held in Bahrain Financial Harbour. One of the best things in this area is that the land developer made sure to have as many greenery as it can have within the vicinity. There were lots of beautiful plants and flowers that's why insects such as butterflies are also in the area.Time
It was probably around close to 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Photo walks here are usually held in this hour so that the sun is not too strong and not as hot as it is (Trivia: Bahrain has two seasons, Extreme Heat over the summer or Extreme Cold during the winter :D ) So if ever you decide to visit Bahrain and do some photography this is the best hour to do it! :DLighting
This is Ambient lighting since we are outdoors, the Sun is always the best source of light. It makes your nature-inspired photos more natural. That's why in this shot, I just made use of the clouds partially covering the Sun so that the rays hitting the wings of the butterfly won't be that strong but still making sure to highlight the beauty of the butterfly's wings.Equipment
I always use my trusty Nikon D7000 in this photo, this was handheld as we were continuously walking around the area but I combined it with a 55-200mm VR, I didn't have my Macro at that time so I had to find an alternative which I can use to take that shot. I also wanted to be distant from the subject so that's why I use this lens too... :D Nikon is the best for me in this situation! :DInspiration
Since the place was made sure to be an area where Greenery is vastly present, so I thought that even if I'm in the middle of the city, I want to get a nature-inspired photo. Because for those who don't know, that Bahrain Financial Harbour, is a new business district are and to make it beautiful and attractive, they placed all around it areas where they planted colorful flowers and very green plants.Editing
No, I really didn't do much because the colors when I shot this were already perfect for me.In my camera bag
Always in my bag are my Nikon D7000, my 50mm (portraits), 55-200mm (for long-distance), my 28-105 (all-around shots) and some ND filters. I also bring with me a tripod just in case I wanted to stay until night time to catch some trail lights or just some city shots.Feedback
Shoot as many as you can and then choose. One thing about shooting insects or something similar is that they continuously move and also if there is a strong wind, that makes it difficult to get that shot that you want. So shooting in bursts can really help you get what you like or need.
