While game viewing in Selous, Tanzania, we found this beautiful young male lion resting in the shade under a tree. The lion was accompanying and older male lion which our guide told us was the younger lions father. The guide told us that the older lion had been outcast from his group and was weak, possibly injured. The younger lion had been seen hunting for its father. Proving their strong bond.

This photograph shows the young male lion watching carefully as a group of impala approach the nearby lake. The lion did not act while we were photographing it. Which means that either it was well fed or it decided to wait for the sun to set. After all, it is very energy consuming to hunt in the hot Tanzanian sun.
