Location
I was a home care speech therapist. I had just finished my last visit for the day, in rural Newaygo County, Michigan.Time
It was very early evening, time of the long shadows and golden light.Lighting
The light was very two-toned. Near me was a beautiful shaded canopy of tall oaks, boughs stretching and intermingling on both sides of the road. Beyond it was an open realm of bright golden sun, with signs of early autumn in the light.Equipment
My trusty Canon PowerShot SX50 HS always travels in the van with me. It's long lens is always equal to the task.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo by the light. It seemed the perfect way to convey my perception of Newaygo County: partly striding boldly into the future, partly holding to ways of the past.Editing
No post processing was done.In my camera bag
My bag is a small one. I carry my camera, of course, and it's manual. I carry extra batteries and an extra card. I also have a small lens cleaning kit. Separately, I keep a monopod and tripod in the cargo area of my van.Feedback
