Location
This photo was taken at the NC Zoo in Asheboro, NCTime
This image is one of my favorites. I am an amateur photographer, and have been involved in several critique groups and classes, trying to learn the tricks of the trade. I was especially proud of this one because it was taken through glass, and I was able to do that with no glare. It was taken during the late morning on a cloudy day.Lighting
The day was very cloudy when I took this picture, which helped eliminate any glare. It was in a greenhouse like building so there was plenty of natural light.Equipment
I used my Panasonic FZ-200 camera to take this shot. I did not use any kind of flash or special equipment. I did zoom in on the subject before taking the photo.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo because of the moment. I just happened upon this snake in this particular pose and knew it could make for an incredible shot. The fact that it was to be taken through glass was an added challenge, but I went for it.Editing
I did not do any post-processing in this photo. In my camera bag
In my bag, I have my camera, macro-lens, an extra battery, an extra memory card, battery charger, and lens cleaner.Feedback
I would say to pay attention to your surroundings. So many times we miss what is right in front of us as we are searching for perfect lighting, the perfect camera settings, or the perfect lens. Also, keep your eyes open for various perspectives, angles, lighting. Many times the perfect photo is right in front of you. All you need to do is take the picture.
