JMT DAY 24 - RAE LAKES AT SUNRISE
Rae Lakes at sunrise
It was still dark when I crawled out of my tent. I grabbed my gear and headed down to the shore. It appeared that we would have sunrise glow cast on Fin Dome and the ridge on the other side of the lake. So, I decided to set up my camera at the little rock formation jutted out into the lake.
The clouds behind the dome and the ridge started glowing in pink first. I really wished that we had had more clouds in the sky, but it wasn’t something that I had control over.
The water was calm, although it was constantly stirred and chastised by the winds. I felt the growing sensation of calmness inside me. Still early enough to enjoy solitude before anybody at the camp got up and started making water trips to the shore.
The lake seemed deeper that morning. Part of me wondered how deep the lake was while my eyes were transfixed at the colors in the sky.
