Woolly opossums are highly nocturnal, feeding on insects, small vertebrates and various fruits. They are arboreal. This one I saw in a tree less than three meters off the ground in Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica. I photoshopped in a praying mantis I had seen earlier in the park to give an example of a potential prey item the opossum might encounter. The praying mantis is itself a predator surviving mostly on smaller insects.
