Walking through a woodland park in Berlin, this was one of the few images I shot whilst knowing in my head what I wanted to do with it. My friend Ed here is an actor, and he likes action films such as Bond, and Indiana Jones. This reminded me of the latter.

I was on holiday with two of my best friends in Berlin. In Berlin they have a massive park I can’t remember the name of. Ed, featured here, is a big fan of Indiana Jones and other action movies, so I thought I’d try edit him as such.Time
We were having a little wander. It would have been around 5pm? If I remember rightly. I could be wrong. Definitely afternoon though.Lighting
I know it was afternoon because the sun was on it’s way down. The light was diffusing through the trees so it made it soft. I have a few from the same series with interesting shadows too.Equipment
This was my D600 with my 24-70 f/2.8 lens. Alas, it has broken now, I miss it so. Because we were on holiday, I didn’t want to bring lots of equipment. So I stuck with my standard set up.Inspiration
Ed likes action movies, and the clothes he was wearing lended themselves to an Indiana Jones type feel, so I went with it. Earlier on in the week, we had gone for Iron Fist!Editing
I used Lightroom. I do 97% of my editing in Lightroom! I used a preset I created to get this effect. Presets I now sell on payhip. In my camera bag
Honestly, I don’t usually use a bag. I’m a travel light and free kind of person. However recently I did get one of those shoulder straps that holds two cameras, so I guess my basic kit is a Nikon D600 with a nifty fifty, and a D7000 with a Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6. It’s good starter lens that has excellent bokeh, and will have to do until I get rich enough to buy another 24-70 f/2.8.Feedback
Take inspiration from colour grading in movies. Don’t be afraid to play with colour. The world is your oyster, your diamond, your road trip.
