Thank you for the compliments and the criticism. In some ways it goes for the old adage to each there own. I do like the idea of leaving some allure to it. Then you have some who get turned off with not enough story cues. I think it is about balance in that aspect. I will definitely take your words into consideration.

Kind of the same comment but slightly different. your are right about balance in the image. i might crop the bottom up to your head shadow, sides a little till it looks balanced 2:3 aspect 2 being vert. and 3 being horizontal. if you reshoot this staged image I would simply take out or move the glass further away from the man and maybe a tear or two from the mans face closer up. Great attempt at showing financial notice of foreclosure huge worry for many people easy to understand out of control emotional feeling.

I think it's good to show the Notice of foreclosure paper. Now I know why he's so upset, & turning to alcohol to numb his feelings. Powerful image!! You might want to check out yourshot National Geographic. It is a photography community, focusing on sharing photos & going on assignment for the editors. People are very supportive, & I've learned how to better describe the "why" "when" "what" of my photographs. They are big into the story behind your photos, not just the image.
