The photograph was taken at night so that there was very little ambient light from any windows.Lighting
The image was lit primarily from the candle, but I added a small amount of light from an artificial source, as the candle light alone was insufficient.Equipment
Digital SLR camera, short zoom and a variable led light panel.Inspiration
Following a muscle problem I have developed an interest in still life photography and I love the light provided by candles. Food provides a great subject for this lighting.Editing
I used the cloning tool to ensure that all the background was completely black, and I adjusted the exposure to ensure that light5 from the candle lit the subject but didn't over power it.In my camera bag
I like to keep things simple, and often go put with a single fixed focal length prime lens. This brings more of a challenge into my photography. I often also limit the number of images I take in an outing, this helps me concentrate on each image and often creates better images.Feedback
Experimentation is fun and can create some excellent images.
