In 2018, my family and I backpacked 2,000 ft. down into Waimea Canyon, deep within the wilderness on the island of Kauai Hawaii. On our hike out of the canyon before sunrise, I was captivated by the forest floor. The diversity of plant life found there amazed me. I fell in love with the patterns, colors, and various shapes I could find on the forest floor. This intimate landscape exemplifies the types of images I am trying to find more of while out in nature.
