Beautiful image! Congrats on your finalist award! Is this the Lime Creek Falls near Purgatory, or West Lime Creek Falls?

Location
This photo was taken in late November at Cascade Creek Falls near Durango, CO.Time
I actually shot two photos here and combined them later in post - one was during blue hour for the foreground and the other was much later at night for the Milky Way.Lighting
There was a car on Highway 550 at night above which created the light on the tree.Equipment
Nikon D800, Nikon 14-24 lens, tripod.Inspiration
I had just moved to Durango a few days prior and was invited by someone who knew me from Flickr to go shoot with him at night at this location. It was awesome to have such a great introduction to my new home.Editing
Lots to say here - this is multiple images blended as a composite - one shot at f/16 and longer for the foreground, and one at f/2.8 and 25 seconds for the background. In my camera bag
A camera and a ton of lenses... water, intervalometer, extra batteries!Feedback
This kind of shot requires some pre-visualization since the scene is not visible like this at the time you shoot it. You should also be honest about what your did /did not do to make the photograph.
