Visiting Sainte-Chapelle was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris, France last year. Despite the large crowds for a relatively small space, I was stunned at the beauty of the stained glass. The color was everywhere! Although I didn't quite get the shot I wanted because of the no tripod, rule, I managed to get a few shots of the chapel. Lighting and crowd conditions were not ideal, but they weren't terrible either. After walking around the area, I put the camera away and spent time admiring the beauty and craftsmanship of the architecture and stained glass. In my opinion, this was a much better and more intimate experience than visiting the famed Notre Dame Cathedral (Notre Dame was a completely different experience, but also great in its own right.) I had gotten here at just the right time; the windows were lit perfectly by the outside light.
On a side note, I remembered an old Kodak film commercial from the '80s that was shot inside a cathedral with stained glass set to the tune of an acapella version of "True Colors," which was going through my head while I was here.
