Behind The Lens

Location

It was October of 2018. My brother and I were driving around Cape Cod for relaxation, scenery and "photo ops". This is from an overlook stop looking away from the ocean.

Time

Having had our ration of fried clams for the day, we were driving around looking for nooks that we had missed. This was probably the middle of the afternoon.

Lighting

Almost any time of the day that isn't "high noon" throws some interesting shadows and highlights.

Equipment

I was probably using my Nikon Cool Pix, a "point and shoot" with a certain amount of flexibility

Inspiration

I was looking around for something other than the sand and the sea having many pictures of that scene. The colors and texture of this particular field piqued my interest. It is a different side of Cape Cod that is often overlooked.

Editing

In my camera bag

I have two bags. One has the Nikon Cool pix which is with me all the time, just in case. The other has a Canon with a couple of filters and two other lenses.

Feedback

Look, really look. Then look through the lens of the camera. Look for shadows, texture, and color. Don't look at the scenery and just see fields or trees. Use your imagination.
