Location
I was on the Isle of Skye, Scotland - on the road to Elgol, in May 2016. I noticed the set of trees and we stopped to investigate. The location was exactly at 57°12'28.698" N 5°58'21" W.Time
It was around 5:30 pm local time. It had been raining off on and all day.Lighting
I was trying to focus the viewer on the rock between the trees. I knew it would be slightly darker up to the rock and beyond. I took the photo at ISO 800 with a focal length of 32mm.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon D750 on a tripod.Inspiration
The Isle of Skye is absolutely a fantastic place for photography. Every nook and cranny is a wonder - and a challenge - to capture! I only had 4 days to try to capture memories. This particular location filled me with stories of past dancers around a fire - playing music and dancing under these trees.Editing
I used HDR with 5 captures. In my camera bag
At the time I carried both a Nikon D750 with various lenses and a D300 converted to IR.Feedback
Skye is a magical place. Get a photo guide for a day and pay well! Then, explore!!!
