Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the vicinity of Canazei (in the Alps) during a skiing holiday in February 2013. After a long snowmobile ride (before) and on foot later, we entered a plateau that seemed to come out of a fairy tale!

Time

Exactly the photo was taken on the 4th of February 2013 around 4 o'clock in the afternoon

Lighting

No particular lighting-level precautions. Only the well-known suggestions of when it is exposed in the presence of snow or very clear surfaces: overexpose without fear in the adjustment phase. The photo was taken with natural light.

Equipment

At that time I used the Nikon D800. In this case I used the 70-200 nikon at focal 105. Aperture f / 5.6; 1/200; iso 200; weighted average detection. Freehand shooting.

Inspiration

That dog that played with the plastic bottle was really too good not to photograph it! :-)

Editing

No particular post production if not a lightening of shadows and lights developing the Raw file.

In my camera bag

Now (2019) in my backpack there are normally two camera bodies: Nikon D5 and D850 with the triad Nikon f 2.8 composed of 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200. Often there is also 85 1.4.

Feedback

No secret or special suggestion to make this kind of photo (a sort of street). Observe and be ready to shoot when the mind and the eyes perceive something beautiful to represent.
