A special thanks to friend and professional photographer Christian Vieler for his collaboration as a guest judge in this free photo contest. Christian Vieler is a 48 year old photographer living and working in Waltrop, Germany. "I worked over 10 years as a freelance journalist, before I joined a creative agency and managed Social Media Accounts for different brands. While working as Social Manager I started shooting dogs in my living room. In 2013 I did my first "Dogs Catching Treats“ series. I quite my job at the end of 2016 and started working as a professional dog photographer.

Grand Jury Winner

"Every good action contest needs a water shots. We have many good entries in the ViewBug contest, but I like „Splash and Grab“ the most, because of it has a slight different perspective and point of view. We have a powerful and dynamic "running through water" -shots, but this one – caught in a turn-a-round-move, drives my attention more into the subject. The action seems to be frozen for a millisecond, because of the focused eyes of the dog. I wonder myself  - What’s happening next?" - Christian Vieler

Runner Up

"Flying Puppy combines everything; the contest theme dogs and action together in the shot. Everyone loves puppies, especially me, the dog is in a joyful mood and a fitting Autumn colour theme. Great shot." - Christian Vieler

Runner Up

"Every sport and disc shot in the competition is great, so I had to ask myself why I stumbled over and over again on this photo. It’s not the little story behind, that tells us that we can see Tel Aviv in the background – it’s more about seeing the ground in the jump shot gives me a greater feeling for the dynamics of the movement. " - Christian Vieler
