Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at a nearby garden that I often visit!

Time

I usually like to take photos around the late afternoon, given that is when the sun shines best of the flowers, allowing for the picture to be most naturally vibrant.

Lighting

This picture was enhanced by natural sunlight, allowing for minimal edits.

Equipment

For this shot I simply used my IPhone 8, which is my trust camera that accompanies me everywhere. I took this picture before I acquired more gear, so this was what I had to work with.

Inspiration

I went to the garden with the intention of getting pictures of their beautiful assortment of flowers, so when I saw this vibrant flower I knew that I had to get a shot.

Editing

For this photo I kept the edits relatively simple, and I adjusted really only the vibrance a slight bit, as well as the clarity. I also cropped the photo, and made minor enhancements in several other categories.

In my camera bag

While it depends on where I’m going, I always have a few trusty essentials in my camera bag. I always keep on hand my canon T7, my lensball, and my tripod, however for this shot I only needed my IPhone!

Feedback

To capture a similar shot, I suggest seeking a subject in the late afternoon, which will allow for the most naturally vibrant colors, and provide a orange tint. Additionally you need to get very close, to be able to focus in on the center of the subject.
