Location
This was taken in one of South Africas many beautiful wildlife reserves. I can't disclose more information on the location because of the very big problem of poaching of these magnificent animals.Time
It was just before sunset. After only seeing some Impala the whole day and the sun starting to get low in the sky, I was ready to give up on getting a good picture. I was ready to put my camera down and enjoy the sight of the sun disappearing below the beautiful African landscape. When suddenly we turned onto a road and there they were! A mother and her daughter, walking side by side, heading to the dam to have a sip of water! Beautiful!Lighting
The sun was low in the sky. Soo i had to to lower my shutter speed. I didn't want to increase the ISO. Luckily they move pretty slow!Equipment
A Canon 6D with my trusty 100-400 mm Canon L series.Inspiration
I just love nature! Every chance i get i go into the wild and see what wonders wait to be seen...and photographed. If you don't find one of the bigger beats that roam our planet. You'll find one of the smaller ones each one magnificent in their own way!Editing
Just some basic lighting fixes. And i de- noised the image aswell. The sun was pretty low when i took the image soo the ISO was a little higher then i would have likedIn my camera bag
On expeditions like this i travel light! In mt bag is my Canon 6D With my 100-400mm lens, a 100mm macro lens. Because i find that you find the smaller beautiful creatures just as often as the bigger ones. A small towel to keep everything dry. And some water...Feedback
Patience! Some more patience. And a full battery! Thats pretty much all you need. Wildlife rarely "poses" for that perfect pic. But thy do move in predictable ways! If you see 2 animals standing far apart or looking away, just wait. Keep your finger on the trigger and wait for them to move into a better position. Or wait for them to walk into that perfect position. It's about patience and timing!
