JMT DAY 4 - ROSALIE LAKE AT SUNSET
Rosalie Lake at sunset : JMT201804001
Since I had never camped at Rosalie Lake, although day hiked it before, it was quite pleasantly surprising to find beautiful campsites around the lake. Tall trees, old pines needles laid grounds, a small creek running by… It reminded me a little bit of Usal Campground that I camped at when I was backpacking the Lost Coast Trail a few years ago.
The lake was constantly stirred by the hungry, self-serving trouts catching flies, and part of me wished that I had brought a fishing rod. Part of me also wished to jump in for a quick swim, considering how sweaty the climb had been from Shadow Lake. However, by the time when I was done setting up my tent and with dinner, lack of time just made me reach for my camera gear without thinking twice.
Despite the fact that the smoke infused hazy sky persisted, the sunset glow started descending upon the top of the forest surrounding this little lake and the hills behind it in the southeast. And the lake was slowly sinking into the dark.
