Optimist is an international class of sailing craft recognized by the International Sailing Federation and whose governing body is the International Optimist Dinghy Association. It was designed by the American citizen Clark Mills in 1947. It is focused on children between six and fifteen years old. This small fleet of optimists is piloted by small captain apprentices.
