Location
The photo was taken in a field of Balcarce, a city in Buenos Aires province, Argentina. This area is in the Pampean Region and is it the most productive agricultural region of the country.Time
In july 18th 2015 I went to visit a field in Balcarce, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. It was winter, already falling in the evening, since it was around 5 PM.Lighting
It was getting dark and there was a lot of cloudiness, so the light was dimming fast. When I saw the horses in the distance, near a mountain range, I asked their owner to call them, and only with a whistle made them gallop towards us. I had little time and the horses were approaching full speed, so I decided to use P mode to get the best catch since I didn't have time.Equipment
I used a NIKON D90 with a 18-105 Nikon Lens.Inspiration
Since I knew that in the field I would find animals to photograph, I was already ready to take some photos of them. When I saw them in the distance in the field, about 200 meters away, I did not know that when their owner whistled they would begin to gallop so fast towards us. It was a beautiful image that I was able to capture, this being one of my best photos.Editing
Years later, when I discovered Viewbug, I decided to touch up the photo a bit and give it a little contrast. Not much more since the photo is the exact image of what the Pampas countryside looks like in winter. To touch the photo more would be to distort a landscape that, in itself, is very beautiful. In my camera bag
I always go everywhere with my old Nikon D90 with its 18-105 Nikon Lens, and the cleaning kit.Feedback
When you have the opportunity to visit or tour a field of any kind, just start walking and enjoying the view. Find what surprises you. Many times the simple is what surprises us the most. Feel that you have in your hands the power to immortalize a moment that can be unique and feel part of that moment. That is photography.
