Location
I took this photograph in the North breakwater of the Port of Mar del Plata city, Argentina. This breakwater is one of the places I prefer to take shots as it has one of the most beautiful views of the city and its port.Time
Normally I take a break at work in the late afternoon to take advantage of the contrasts of light, and decided to go in my car to the entrance of the port to see what I found to take shots. It was 5 pm.Lighting
The sun was behind me, but the sky was quite cloudy so I tried to find the position that would allow me to highlight the image of the bicycle with respect to the environment.Equipment
I used my faithful Nikon D90 with the AF - S NIKKOR 18-105 mm. Shutter speed: 1/400s f/5 ISO 200 , No Flash, No TripodInspiration
When I saw this old bicycle parked between two cement blocks of the jetty. Alone. And in front of the sea. I realized that I had never seen that image before. Especially since nobody leaves a bicycle, alone, in a public place, in this country, because it runs the risk of not finding it when returning. Then I saw that his owner was in the lower part of the breakwater fishing with his fishing rod. The contrast of the bicycle with the sea led me to take the picture.Editing
I only applied the Zeke filter with Windows Photo Editor 10.0 and raised the contrast a little. In my camera bag
I usually carry with me my Nikon D90, with its DX18-105 mm, and an envelope with Vivitar 67 mm filters. (Intensifier; CPL and UV)Feedback
My advice is that, as far as possible, always carry your camera with you. Nowadays it is easier because cell phones have better and better cameras. This facilitates that we can find ourselves prepared before any possible and only time to register. As one of the photographers of Viewbug, "Papa_Mike" wrote me a few months ago regarding my photo "Sunset in the city" : "I tell people, taking a great picture is mostly being in the right place at the right time, and KNOWING you're there and having a camera with you ." If that is the situation, be prepared to click!
