Cheetahs do most of their hunting in the daytime when most of their competitors, notably lions, leopard and spotted hyena, are resting. These predators, especially lions, are responsible for the high mortality among cheetah cubs. This is a composite photo. The cheetah was recorded in the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy.
