Years ago I became familiar with the plight of the Monarch Butterflies. With the building booms in the US they were quickly losing their natural habitats. So, being a fan, I devoted an area of my PA property to them. With a water source already there, I put in the proper plants and waited. Year 3 there was a Monarch Boom beyond what I could have imagined, So much so that when the time came for the "Monarch Migration" considered one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world, many of my trees became landing zones for Monarch Swarms as they gathered together to head south. I spent almost an entire week outside shooting film and laughing as I was often covered with butterflies who seemed to have enjoyed their stay in the mountains...
