A river cuts through rock not because of its power but because of its persistence.

5 years ago I developed a virus which decimated the electrical system in my heart. With only 11% heart function I needed to become a river, bending, sometimes powerful and strong, sometimes a trickle, but always moving, going forward. Becoming an unstoppable life force.

When I was young, my parents had a place in Northern Pennsylvania, The Endless Mountains Region:Thompson, PA. 38 acres of woods and field, in the middle of nowhere. A lake, and farms where we often sin birthing calves and foals made it a miraculous place for Jersey ids to play.

In the Spring the snow run-off from the mountains were a force to be reckoned with. The river was like a wild animal. I roadred down the mountain. It was an awesome and beautiful sight.

We can all be like those rivers, making a beautiful swath through life. Proud, refreshing, and powerful.
