Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a small forest at Heiloo, Holland.

Time

It was taken early in the morning in order to capture some soft light and mist.

Lighting

In the morning the light is soft and you can capture a more balanced image.

Equipment

I used the Nikon D750 and the Nikon 70-300 on a tripod.

Inspiration

I always admire forest photos that have some special mood in it,so I located this place and it looked ideal for the kind of photo I had in mind.

Editing

My post processing included Lightroom for the basic adjustments and Photoshop for the final details.

In my camera bag

I always take with me my Tamron 15-30 2.8 for the wide landscape shots, a Tamron 90mm macro lens and a Nikon 70-300 for the long shots.

Feedback

For forest shots it is better to use a mid to long range (70mm+) in order to compress the backround and have a better mood.
