Location
This photo was taken in Zaanse Schans, a small village with many windmills and small museums. The place is at the north of Amsterdam, about 20 mins drive.Time
I usually take photos during sunset or sunrise and this was no exception. This was one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen!Lighting
Shooting at sunrise is ideal in this location because the light comes from behind, creating a lovely atmosphere if the sky has a few clouds.Equipment
I used the Nikon D5300 and the fabulous Tokina 11-16mm. I also used a 10 stop ND filter to get a 20 sec of exposure.Inspiration
The place is amazing, the windmills are a very typical Dutch tradition, so shooting them during a beautiful sunrise was what i always wanted to do.Editing
Post processing was done in Lightroom for the basic adjustments and then a few corrections in Photoshop together with the amazing Viveza 2 from the NIK collection. In my camera bag
At this moment I am carrying a Nikon d750, a Tamron 15-30 2.8 and a Nikon 80-200 2.8. I also have 2 grad filters from Lee and 2 nd filters from Haida.Feedback
Make sure that you select the proper exposure, because shooting with the sun behind your subject can be tricky. If needed get two shots, one for the foreground and one for the sky in order to balance the exposure with image blending. In this photo is from a single raw file though.
