The cattle drive the subject of these photos really captured what a hundred plus cattle and men on horse back can create as far as a dust storm. The scene takes place at the remote Buckeye Campground which is one of the Bridgeport, Califonia's area's more expanded campgrounds, with 68 sites amid sagebrush and pines, where campers feel like the whole Sawtooth Ridge and Hoover Wilderness is theirs to explore on hiking trails and quiet trout-filled creeks. This campground is located on a rough dirt road several miles from the town of Bridgeport, on a ridge above Buckeye Creek. Twin Lakes is about four miles away. The campground is on Buckeye Creek and is shaded by Jeffrey and Lodgepole pines. Hiking on Eagle Creek to the flanks of Eagle Mountain. Buckeye hot spring (140 degrees F) is just east of the campground. The spring comes out above the creek, over a rock overhang, which creates a cave-like area in the pool. Another small spring is upstream. This is a very popular spring year round. Fishing in Buckeye Creek offers different kind of fishing experience to get away from crowds. Trails are nearby to Yosemite.
