Behind The Lens

Location

White Sands National Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico, USA

Time

Midday

Lighting

Nothing but sun!

Equipment

Canon EOS 70D

Inspiration

Every time we go to White Sands, I try to get action shots of my kids jumping off the dunes. We've been hosting high school-aged exchange students for several years pre-pandemic, and this has become tradition for us to do with these kids!

Editing

Some. Converting to black and white and other touch-ups.

In my camera bag

Camera, filters, tripod

Feedback

If you make it to White Sands, bring lots of water. Also, it can be windy, so something to protect your equipment. I usually sit or lay down right at the base of the dune to capture these shots.
