Behind The Lens

Location

This is a small backroad close to the Northumbrian town of Bellingham.

Time

I took this while walking my faithfully old Labrador at lunchtime.

Lighting

This walk gave me quite a few shots. Sometimes the sky glowered and at others it was difficult to see an horizon as the sky and the snow blended into each other.

Equipment

This was a handheld shot taken with my Canon 5D mk2.

Inspiration

The scene spoke to me of distance and longing, perhaps even loss.

Editing

Most of the shots from this day needed no processing. I did make this one b/w as it seemed to accentuate what I saw.

In my camera bag

I often only have the camera with me as I did on this day.

Feedback

The only advice I can give anyone who wants to take similar pictures is to walk and listen. Try to be unobtrusive and let the landscape talk to you.
