Behind The Lens

Location

I was photographing a wedding in a cathedral in Newcastle Upon Tyne when these flags caught my eye.

Time

The midday sun was streaming through the window giving the flags a translucence.

Lighting

For me it's the backlighting that makes this picture.

Equipment

My trust old canon 5D was a bit newer then but it still does a great job now.

Inspiration

Apart from the way the light caught the flags their condition spoke volumes. I can only imagine what they have witnessed.

Editing

I'm pretty sure this is as taken. I would usually play around in lightroom but apart from the logo the natural light did the best job.

In my camera bag

For this job I took my Lowepro backpack that is designed to slide around my body so I can access my kit. As well as flash, lenses, spare batteries etc I included a sensor cleaning kit just in case.

Feedback

This opportunity presented itself to me while I was doing other things. The best advice I can draw from this is keep looking around and take the time to notice. :)
