The green vine snake is endemic to Central America and the northern portions of South America. While only a couple of centimeters in diameter, they may grow as much as 2 meters in length. They are highly arboreal, feeding on tree frogs, small reptiles, bird eggs, nestlings, small rodents and insects. Their green color helps to camouflage them among the leaves as they lie in wait for prey. This one was photographed in Costa Rica.
