The former came to ask for food, but at back, the other said "Oh, you again"

Behind The Lens

Location

I was running a track with my car, between rocky hills in Maldonado Department, Uruguay. Google shows 34°38'43.3"S 55°17'12.7"W

Time

Was taken on December 4 of 2016 at 16hr.22min.

Lighting

The day was cloudy

Equipment

Used my old Canon T3i with a 18-135 Canon lens handheld, no flash

Inspiration

Was looking for nice landscapes when these horses came to look what I was doing. I like horses among others.

Editing

As the horse in front was black and grey I decided to go almost to black and white, leaving a very slight tone of brown for the brown bored horse at back. I cropped the photo to make horses more present, without distracting trees and branches.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my new Sony RX10M4 for general use and good Macro and my Canon 7DII with a 70-300 II Canon Lens which I consider very good, which combined get very fast focusing and go perfect for birds in flight. I carry also a monopod, a tripod, batteries, cleaning equipment and lens filters. I carry my Canon EF-S 10-18mm when making architectural photos. I also carry a small portable bench to sit and with patience wait for anything coming. Don´t forget to carry a hat and some water to drink.

Feedback

When going to shoot in Nature, is better to have a camera with fast and precise focusing for animals and a good camera/lens for shooting insects, flowers or other small objects. Spare batteries and at least one memory are a must.
