My old dog spends much of her day sleeping. Sometimes though, she's awake and has nothing to do. All her people are out and about. Guess I don't count, since I am quiet and not entertaining her. She sits by the front door, not moving a muscle, waiting for someone to go by on the sidewalk. Or, even better, someone to walk up our path. I sit at my desk and watch her. She doesn't move a muscle. It's heartbreaking in an old dog cute kind of way. Doggie boredom? Doggie patience?
