One can reach the Grand canyon and stay overnight by first staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and then taking the train to the Grand Canyon. If you try to book in the Grand Canyon and wait too long that becomes the only way to accomplish this. There is the added fun of the trip including a reenactment of the bad old days of Arizona where gangs of bandits were around. This group is called the Cataract Creek Gang and is staffed by a number of talented performers who can also sing a play instruments.
